Two Under 2

Phil & Ted's - like? dislike?

I'm looking at doubles now and don't want a side by side (I don't think...)

Anyone have experience with the Phil & Ted's Sport? Or another model?  Like, dislike? What do you think of it with a newborn and toddler?

  • have had it for over 2 years.  love it.  push it one handed while 2 kids ride and I walk a crazy dog.  jogged a 5k with it. great for single and double in one.  I see them all over nyc... people love them.

cons:  the canopy leaves something to be desired, no cupholder (which is fine b/c I can push it one handed, even now that my kids are nearly 3 and 4 1/2), and there was the tip risk (if one child climbed in the back before the other sat in the front (yes, my kids fought over who got to sit in the jumpseat).   all of this has been worked on and upgraded in their new model (think it's the explorer?)

we used it nearly daily for 2 years. this summer we haven't used it much.  dc want to walk.  but it was worth it to us.   they have made improvements on the newer model and britax has come out with something similar that looks cool.

  • I love my P&T Sport, but right now with a newborn, I don't like that I have to have her lying down in the bassinet in the back.  I can't wait for her to be 4 months old so I can move her to the jump seat.  Then I'll love it even more.  It moves smoothly, is easy to push, and is pretty easy to fold down and put back up once you're used to it.

  • Yes!  LOL  I love it and hate it at the same time.

I love the flexibility of it, esp with newborn and toddler and now baby and preschooler.  I can leave the house in one configuration, then switch it up, depending on who's sleeping when and where.  It's great.

Not so great: it's not a smooth stroll (nowhere near as nice as our BOB), a real PITA to fold/unfold (so much so that I refuse to put it in the car - it remains set up at our house), and in less than one year I've had multiple broken parts.  For the money, I just don't think the quality is that great, but it was also sort of the only option at the time with the setup I wanted.  Have you looked into the new City Mini Double?  I would be looking at that one now given the chance.  Hope my input helps!
