I assume for obvious reasons waiting until 10-12 weeks would be ideal, however I am curious as to when you found it appropriate to tell your job you are expecting?
I will tell after my first u/s next week (will be just a day over 8 weeks). With ds I went through some additional testing and needed to take off days here and there without warning so I want to let my boss know asap in case I need to do that again.
I just did. After the u/s the doc said that it's ok to tell people now. The myth to wait until 2nd trimester to tell people is old because back then, the technology was not sophisticated enough to listen to the heartbeat. Once you hear the heartbeat, the % of miscarriage drastically decreases to about 2%.
I am so glad that people now know so that they aren't all wondering..Man, she really let herself go.
I did yesterday. This is my second preganancy and they were really good about the first. I had a lot of m/s with the first so I wanted to give them a heads up.
I worked in a papermill with #1. My job was not pregnancy friendly so I told my immediate boss and HR at 7 wks. It was not common knowledge until 13 wks though.
I haven't told them yet. I am still on maternity leave so I have to go in and meet with my boss. It's an interesting situation so I have NO idea what will happen.

Yesterday. I was going to hold out until the beginning of 2nd tri. But, I really wasn't feeling well yesterday and told only my mgr just in case I had to leave earlier than normal. I just didn't want her to think I overdid it over the long weekend.
Three angel babies...I think it's time for a change
i told my two immediate bosses a few days after finding out, because we had a rough time in the beginning and i was missing a lot of work. as for everyone else, i'll be waiting as long as i can, but definitely at least until we're out of first tri.
I'm waiting until the end of the month (I'll be 14 weeks). I just started a new teaching job last week and I want to put in a good month of work before I announce the news. I'm worried about how they'll react since I just started working there... but I'm sure they'll understand that these things happen..

I'm debating whether to tell at 12 weeks or further along. When I tell work I know they are going to try to screw up my schedule and I'm trying to give them as little opportunity as possible.
I was intending on waiting a few weeks to tell work, but I had a lot of bleeding and some clotting about a week ago while at work and ended up telling my supervisor while panicking. Luckily, she is super sweet and excited for me. I am lucky to work for such a great office.

...and then two weeks later they fired me
for no reason other than being pregnant!
I think that is illegal!!!
The first time I was pregnant I didn't tell them until 17 weeks.
