  We just started the transition and I believe we bought our last can of formula yesterday. He should be completely on whole milk in about a week.

  At 11 months I started doing 1/2 formula 1/2 whole milk.

  At 12 months we started doing all whole milk.  

  My DD is THRILLED not to have to drink formula anymore.  She hated it.

  I was told to give it to her until she is 1 so I am going to wait until her one year checkup to get the go ahead to start weaning her off.

  our pedi said to wait until she's a year. we're gonna start this saturday (so i can do it) which is only 4 days before her bday. i think that's OK. we'll do 1/2 and 1/2.

  We had DD's 9 month check-up yesterday and our pedi said to start whole milk between 10 and 12 months. He said to start 1/2 and 1/2. We will probably start when she is close to 11 months.

  When she's 10 months, I plan on giving her 2-4 ounces of whole milk in a sippy cup every evening. I'll probably, very gradually, increase that amount between 10-12 months. I want to wean her off both the bottle and formula by the time she's a year.

  I'm in no hurry. At 12 months I will begin transitioning. But I will keep the morning and bedtime bottle as formula until about 15 months. He will have whole milk in a sippy at meal times.
