Burying head in chest/shoulder?

Does anyone else have a LO that does this? My LO will bury his head into my shoulder or chest, covering his nose and mouth. I worry that he can't breath like this, but he acts like he's most comfortable when he does this.

  • my little one does it... she can breathe, i can feel it. hey, if she's comfortable and it keeps her quiet, i'm all for it.

  • All the time. She goes face down in my cleavage a lot. And her current favorite spot is my armpit. I don't get it, but if she's happy, oh well. She can breathe.

  • A lot of babies do this.  It's their way of saying that they are overstimulated and just want some quiet/sleep time.  Mommy's warm chest is the safest place they know.  :)

  • Mine is doing that as I type this...with his binky in! It kinda hurts! I guess it reminds him of being in the womb, all snug and tight.

  • yep.  she often angles her body and buries her head in the blanket that is under her and in the crook of my arm as i hold her.  and when she lays on my husband's chest, she often inches up to be right in under his chin, in his neck.
  • My girl does the same thing and I just keep a hand on her back so that I know she's breathing!  It worries me too!
