He was so excited, and his coach? He sucks. He's terribly disorganized, has no command over the kids. It was a freaking free for all. The biggest problem? He's a good friend of H's.
There were four other teams practicing at the same time, first night for everyone. The other coaches had actual plans of action, so to speak. At one point, our coach was chasing his 18 month old around, rather than being focused on the kids.
I really don't want this to ruin soccer for Will. He was so excited, and now he says that "soccer is boring." ![]()

Re: Really frustrated after W's first soccer practice.
That sounds like a great suggestion. I would be pissed too!
can't you make an anonymous call to the organization/director about how it was? That way he gets some sort of feedback, but doesn't know its coming from you.
Our t-ball coach was like that and another dad stepped up and just made himself an assistant and suggested some things and made sure he was there early to organize the kids.
YIKES.
That really stinks for Will.
DH is the coach for M's team. He is actually meeting with the other coaches tonight. I hope he learns what he is supposed to do because he doesn't really have a clue. They are only 3/4 so I'm sure you aren't expecting a ton of organization right? Give him one more chance and then complain.
Oh no, definitely not expecting a ton of organization. It just seemed like our coach didn't give a damn. We're going to see how next week goes. H has already told him, several times, that he is more than happy to help out. So we'll see.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
