So I know that there are some moms to be that do not drink caffeine at all...and some that partake everyonce in awhile.
Curious...what do all of you ladies do?
I have not had any caffeine in my 9w4d...but I am a Dr. Pepper junkie and am really craving one right now. I have a 6 pack in my fridge that has been there for a few weeks... and I am ready to bust one open. I think I will tonight...I just need to limit myself. Usually once I start aI am a chain drinker... which is why I don't normally even have it in my house. I have no will power.
Re: Caffeine ?
1st time around I made it to 10w before having my first Coke (coke junkie here).
this time, I've had 2 - 3 cokes per week.

I have cut way way back, but have not cut it out entirely. Today I only had a couple sips of a cherry coke. Yday I had a half a glass of sweet tea. This from the girl who was a caffeine addict.
I am not going to give it up entirely, but I will cut way back and/or substitute for caffeine free where I can.
I LOVE a venti caramel mochiato x caramel upside down! Your not alone lol
It would give me a head ache. I know too much caffeine is not good for you.
I have a small (4-5oz) cup of coffee in the morning, and occasionally a cup of black tea to take the edge off the afternoon fatigue. I cut down from 16ozs of coffee in the morning.
i've cut wayyyyy down, but not eliminated completely. i used to drink at least 10-15 sodas a week, but now 1 every other day is what i'm averaging. i don't drink coffee, so my can of pepsi is fine, imo. plus any caffeine in chocolate.
I don't normally drink a lot of caffeine. I don't drink coffee and I only drink soda on special occasions.
I did, however, cut out my black tea. I just figure I can live without it for a few months. No big deal.
I'll still drink a soda if the situation arises, but my preferred soda's are ginger ale, sprite, and root beer --all of which are caffeine free.
I have my regular dose of caffeine first thing in the morning. With a toddler who still doesn't sleep through the night and me being tired, no one would want to deal with me without the caffeine.
I believe most things are okay in moderation.
Word.
I drink a cup of coffee every morning. You wouldn't want to be around me if I didn't. I don't drink caffeine the rest of the day, though.
You can have 300mg of caffeine a day. But remember that chocolate and even pain relievers have caffeine too. There is only 28mg of Caffeine for every 8 fluid oz. of Dr. Pepper. My sister in law drank several Dr. Peppers a day during the course of her pregnancy (while fisting huge brownies in her other hand). Her healthy baby girl was born on Sunday. Granted, my sister in law did have high blood pressure, but that could very well have been caused by her surroundings.
Caffeine increases blood flow which is already taking place because of your growing fetus. Have that Dr. Pepper. 1 isn't going to hurt you and your baby
An angel opened the book of life and wrote down my baby's birth, Then she whispered as she closed the book, "Too beautiful for earth." ~Unknown We lost our "Squishy" to a m/c on 10/06/2010. He/she went to heaven with my Dad and our Heavenly Father.
I haven't changed anything - I drink one large (16 oz) cup of regular coffee almost every morning.
There is no evidence that low levels of caffiene are harmful. None. No need to be miserable.
