Requesting appts online...

in 1st Trimester

I was so excited Sunday when I got my BFP that I got online and requested an appointment with an OB/GYN I have never seen before but came to me as a recommendation from my family doc.  I realize that because of the holiday weekend it may be until tomorrow until I hear something but if I don't get a phone call tomorrow how long would you wait until you just call the office?

I'm a little paranoid because after requesting appointments via websites before with other places and never heard anything, TIA!

    I would have called today just to make sure that they were accepting new patients and took your insurance. It seems strange that they would offer that service to non-established patients...

    My Dr. only allows this for you yearly girly check ups.  All my OB stuff has to be done by phone call.  My GYNO is also my OB. 

    PP is right about taking new paients as I know my Dr. is not so I was lucky she was already seeing me as my GYNO and is also an OB I get to use her.

    Since you never seen or met this OB before I would call to make sure he/she is accepting patients. There is no problem (or need to be paranoid) if you call them when you already request an appt.

    When I called my experience was that I talked to a nurse to set it up, not a scheduler, and they asked me certain questions as well as setup all my appts from my 8-10 all the way through my 20 week u/s.

    Thanks ladies, they accept my insurance and new patients (I checked her out through my insurance website as well) I'm going to call first thing in the morning.  Thanks again for all of the great advice!
