DD's birthday party will be hopefully on the 20th of November. I am not sure what the weather will be like so I am wondering what plans you have for your lo's party. Are you planning on an outdoor or indoor party? What food will you be serving? Thanks in advance ladies!
Re: if your lo's party is in November...
LOs b-day is Oct 27 but we are having thier party 1st weekend in Nov.
I decided to just have a party at the house it will be both inside and out. I will have the non baby livign room set up if its too cold for people tohang out as well as the dining room and kitchen which are all sorta connected. I would prefer if everyone hung out in the kitchen an don the deck. I have debated renting one of those heaters you see on decks or even buying one since DH and i love to sit out there year round.
DH will still probibly grill some chicken and stuff so the house doesnt get too hot. But i am keeping it really simple since there is no family in town to help us. and our budget is TIGHT! Im going to do i think a few "meal" type items and the rest snacky type food so people can just graze most of the day.
Im interested to hear others ideas!!!
We'll probably be inside but we're only having 20 guests tops. We also have a large yard in case the weather's nice and we want to move it outdoors.
ETA: Didn't see you asked about food! We'll probably just grill chicken and hamburgers & ask close family to bring a dish to share. That's the way we do parties.
We are having it at our house inside. DS was born on the 4th of November and so far we are having it either on that day or the 6th.
We will be serving casseroles, salad, fruit and cake. I picked casseroles because DS loves a few of the ones I make and I didn't want to do sloppy jo's or something because we did that for his baptism. And with christmas around the corner the budget isn't HUGE! So casseroles work great! 2 different kinds and done. We are having about 30 people.
DS's birthday is Oct. 31, so really close to November! We are having it our house since it will only be family, roughly around 20 people. We have a covered porch, so even if it's a little chilly outside, people can still sit out there.
As for food, we are doing soup! I'm making a chicken tortilla soup, MIL is making chili and my mom is making a veggie soup (my sister is a vegetarian) and both my SIL's are bringing cornbread to go with the soup.
Jacks birthday and party are November 6. We are planning it to be outside, but we have a backup location if it rains or is just too cold in general. The day he was born was beautiful last year, so I am hoping for a repeat!
Food...no idea just yet.
Liam's birthday is on November 12 so party will be on the 13th (Saturday). We are planning a large party (60 people) at our house. Our house is a decent size with a finished basement. I am hoping to utilize our back yard but know that it could be inside if it rains.
Food - right now we plan to get some sandwich trays, salads, and cake.
DD's birthday is November 23rd, so we're going to do her party the weekend prior to Thanksgiving. I live in NY, so an outdoor party in November is not even an option. I'm going to try to rent a hall from the VFW or Knights of Columbus or something; there are a bunch of options in this area.
I just started thinking about food. I think we're going to do a pasta salad, fruit and veggie platters, meatballs in sauce with rolls to put them on, either ziti or lasagna... That's what I have so far. We're inviting about 50 people (big family), so I need to have a good amount of food.
So my plan for her birthday was to have a brunch the Saturday before Thanksgiving with yummy fall foods, hot apple cider, champagne cocktails or bloody mary's, pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting...more of an adult/family style party than a kids party.
But we just moved and don't know anyone so that party is probably only going to happen in my imagination. Now we'll most likely just combo up with Thanksgiving and our families.
