After driving myself absolutely crazy over this whole carseat transition, we've decided on the Britax Marathon for my car. But we will still need a second car seat for DH's car on the 1-2 days DS *might* be in DH's car.
Also, my parents are looking to purchase a car seat to keep at their house. We were looking to stay around $100 for a second car seat.
Thanks for any suggestions!
ETA: I realize I've posted before about car seats, but I'm posting and running while I finish up my last 1/2 hour of work.

Re: Recommend a grandparent/2nd car convertible seat
For about $50 I'd highly recommend the Cosco Scerena https://www.target.com/Cosco-Scenera-Convertible-Seat-Transatlantic/dp/B001E6KIUQ/ref=sr_fkmr_1_2?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&keywords=cosco&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-2&qid=1283896686&rh=&searchRank=target104545&id=Cosco%20Scenera%20Convertible%20Seat%20Transatlantic&node=1038576%7C1287991011&searchSize=30&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0
I've been using this carseat for 5 years and it's been through 2 children (I nanny part time)
I recently had our Marathon installed for DS... while I was there they did a thourough inspection of my Cosco and it got a great rating. The firemen said it was a great choice.
I second this. We have this for our sitter's car (he's only in it 3 miles round trip, and an occasional outing), and in DH's car, which we don't typically take as a family. It's inexpensive, but easy to adjust, and the firefighters also commented on it being a good seat when we got it installed. It's on sale this week at Target during their baby sale.
Sounds like the Cosco Scenera is the way to go. I had seen one at Wal-Mart and there didn't seem to be that much cushion.
But I guess if it's just a couple days a week, it won't be too bad.

The kids I watch have Britax Marathons in their Moms car. I have them 3 days a week. They have never complained about not being comfortable. And trust me... if they were I would have heard all about it.
