Topical Erythromycin

Hi ladies.  Has anyone used a topical erythromycin during their pregnancy for acne and did it have any effect on your baby?  I am breaking out like crazy in this first trimester and my face is swollen, red and itchy.  My Dermatologist prescribed it.  She said it should be just fine, and so did our fertility doc and pharmacist.  I am still a little scared to use anything.

    I would say if all three pharmasist, dermatologis and your OBGYN all say it is okay, I would use it to makeyourself feel better.  There are somethings that won't harm your baby, and this sounds like it is fine to use.

    I was ok'd to use topical clindamycin, so I would guess it is ok but check with the doc just in case.

    And stay away from anything like Retin-A, for sure!
