Extended Rear-facing-Good Seat???

My DD is 20 months old and still rear-facing in a Britax Roundabout; however, she is reaching the height limit for rear-facing. I have been searching for another seat so I can keep her rear-facing, but most seem to only offer about another inch. The Sunshine Kids Radian is much taller, but many reviews have said that it is hard to fit in even medium sized cars without pushing the passenger seat too far to the front. Does anyone know of a good deeper seat for rear-facing? TIA!

Re: Extended Rear-facing-Good Seat???

  • I'm not there yet obviously but the other seat that was recommended to me for extended rear facing besides the Radian (which wouldn't fit in my car) was the First Years True Fit Premier.  It's what we bought but I don't actually know what the height limit on it is.  I'm sure you can probably look that up though.  We couldn't find one to buy anywhere in Houston and had to order online, if you want to look at mine let me know I don't mind if you want to come look at it.

I assume your DD isn't to the weight limit yet, but is just too tall for the Britax seat?

My big boy is bounding towards 4! Baby brother coming in October!

  • Thanks for the info. She is only 28 lbs so she has about 7 lbs to go. She has a long torso, which is contributing to the height problem. I will try to get the measurements for the First Years online. Thank you!
  • Take her seated torso length (floor to shoulders) and go ask at car-seat.org
