TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Buh bye coffee

I am sipping my last cup of coffee for hopefully a long long time. My FIL brought home his friends homegrown Kona coffee and it is our favorite. Sad I only get one cup and now have to watch DH enjoy it daily. Coffee is sooooo hard to give up! To top it off, Luna is laying in bed snoring so loudly. It's interrupting my blissful cup.

Re: Buh bye coffee

  • I'm sorry, I wish you could still enjoy a little.  I hope this cup is the best ever.

  • I'll just have to drink your share of the worlds coffee. God knows I could use it today.

  • I'm sorry hon!

How sad is it that I actually remember my 'goodbye cup' of coffee? I ended up with a withdrawl headache for about three days straight - which means I probably needed to slow the hell down anyway.

Are you doing the 'clean' diet thing or changing up your diet for IVF (other than coffee)?

  • I hope you enjoy this cup!

Oh I fail at the diet on the weekends. I have two weeks to get it together. What have you done besides now consuming meat?

I've been extremely strict on the following:

    1. NO soy
    2. NO caffine
    3. NO diet soda
    4. tons of water

My 'except when we go out to eat and I'm not going to stress' stuff:

    1. organic meat
    2. organic dairy
    3. full fat dairy (which turns out is pretty easy cause it was hard to find reduced fat, organic dairy)
    4. mostly organic fruits and veggies (anything I peel - orange, eggplant, etc. I usually don't sweat).

    My half-asss attempt:

    1. cut the junk food
    2. lower my splenda habit
    3. eat organic (breads, etc.)
    4. make from scratch (pasta sauces, etc... basically reduce the numer of jars, cans and boxes used in food prep)

Unfortunately there's a lot of conflicting info on some of this stuff. So like I said, I'm fairly unscientific in all this and the LAST thing I'm gonna do is let my diet stress me out (rather counter-productive I figure), but the above is basically my attempt at "well, even if it doesn't HELP it can't HURT, right?"

  • Enjoy your last cup!  It will all be worth it in the end :)

  • How sad, I love coffee.  I've been trying to give it up too to help my chances....but I haven't fully succeeded yet.

    It'll be so worth it!

  • That last cup is oh-so sad.

I switched to a really robust decaf. I tried going cold turkey, but found that not engaging in the morning ritual was making me more of a red hot mess than the lack of caffeine. Now I get my morning cup, even if it doesn't wake me up. I had to compromise or go insane.
