I am officially a preemie mom. My DD Gwendolyn was born this morning at 12:39. She was 34 weeks 3 days GA, and weighed 4 lbs 10 oz (18" long)
She is in the NICU and is on room air. We just got put in our postpartum room, so we will be in to see her again soon. It is so humbling however to see all of the babies there who are currently much smaller or sicker than she is, and we realize we are lucky. I am sure I will have plenty of questions along the way, and I admire the strength in all of you.
Re: Hi there
Congrats! It sounds like she is doing well. I think the NICU is hard whether you have a 25 weeker or 35 weeker. In some ways I think the older babies would be harder to leave when you know they are so close to coming home and are just growing.
I hope you have an uneventful course and she is home soon!
