My girls just started at a new dcp today...they have been with a sitter for the past year...and they have been crying almost all day so far at the new place...
How long can I expect this to last? How long do kids usually take to transition? I am sitting here at my desk crying b/c I know they are there crying and it makes me feel awful...a week? longer?? ugh. I don't know why I thought this would be easy.

Life is good!
It took my son about 2 weeks to adjust. The first was awful. He wasn't sleeping well or at all, which just meant he was even more upset and it was a snowball effect. It's been 2 months and now he's doing great. Friday when I picked him up he wanted to just stay and play.
I think it's hard at this age b/c they're very aware of changes and surroundings, but they're not old enough for you to explain what's going on. It will get easier! Now, we're seeing a lot of advantages we're weren't even expecting. GL! I hope the transition goes quickly.
