Ok Ladies
I posted here a little over a month ago about hosting a Chinese exchange teacher for two months. We are now into our second month. They are wanting to know if we are willing to host longer. I am just not sure if I am willing to take on this task for the rest of this semester. They are checking to see if the school board will pay the utilities for the garage apt for the rest of the time since she like to keep the apt at 80-90 degrees and we just cannot afford to pay for the gas and electricity to be able to do this.
The other problem is the girl is driving me up one wall and down the other. It is like I have to babysit from the time I get home at night until I finally go to bed. I cannot get anything done or have any real time to myself.
If it was you and the school board is willing to pay the utilities what would you do.
Sorry this is so long.

Okay...I'm sorry I don't know the backstory to this. Do you work with her at the school as well? Does the staff at the school offer to host any events or anything?
During my first year teaching, we had two international teachers. Each grade level was responsible for hosting an event a week (in the beginning, then I think it slowed down to once a month or so) that was after school, and would help to "show the new folks around the area" or something to that effect. Could you get the school more involved if you do decide to continue hosting her?
Good luck!
