eep - crazy baby names

My younger sister (24) was posting back to school pix of her kids. She sort of left the family many years back, so I'm embarrassed to say that I didn't even know the names of the two younger ones.

The oldest is Alejandro. This makes me a little bit sad because she was so young when she had him that she named him after her favorite doll. I kid you not. The youngest is Ismael. Cute kid. The middle child, the girl, is Aleishka. I had to look it up twice while typing it to make sure I didn't misspell it. I think I can say it - but what a name...

I'm morbidly curious to know how old that oldest kid is now. He looks MIGHTY OLD. And it doesn't help that my 24 yo sister still looks the way she did when she was 14.

Uh... I don't even have a witty reply for those names. Poor kids, I guess. Was she 14 when she had Alejandro? And- um- is he even slightly Hispanic?

I'm trying REALLY hard to remember, but she can't have been older than 17 when she had him. A very young, immature 17.

She is Hispanic, so I'm totally fine with Alejandro (and actually coincidentally, my 1yo brother is called by his middle name, which is Alejandro). Ismael is way nms and was probably chosen by her latest boyfriend, who is a preacher. But Aleishka? There's no excuse.

Yikes! Those names are nms either, but I still think I like them better than some I cam across when I taught a few years back...Treasure, Precious, Princess...what are people thinking? I'd hate my parents if I were 50yrs old & having to tell people "Yes, my name is Princess".

i'm sorry to say i kinda giggled when i read this only because there is a hair school here same name just spelled Xennon.

My sister's roommate is named Precious. Try and get a job as something other than a stripper named Precious! And her sister is Priti (like Pretty). I have no idea what what their parents were thinking!

My neighbor's son also just named his daugher Zuzu. Which is cute when she's little- but again, when she grows up...?

His last name is even worse, but obviously I'm not going to put it on here. It kinda rhymes with Shmemshmock. It's horrible!

How about Wyzdom, Fayth and Gs3 (I KID YOU NOT). Gs3 is God's Soldier to the third power. My friend is a teacher in a charter school in town...on eof thme was in her class last year.

Those are some crazy names! My SIL married someone who is Indian. Their oldest's name is ...hang on...looking up how to spell it...can't find it anywhere...but something like Samadohnam. DH and I can't spell it and neither can his grandparents. We wanted to call him Sam when he was born, but they insisted he go by Sama. It's so bad he refuses to tell his friends his full name and gets embarrassed when you call him that. He brother was lucky. He got Vijay. Very popular Indian name. Geesh!
