TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

Major economic stimulus

This has been some serious retail therapy.  I think I am singlehandedly supporting the economy this week.

-We started building our deck last week and that should be done hopefully by the weekend.

-While looking for some outdoor furniture I came across the china cabinet I have been looking for which was on a huge sale b/c it's discontinued so I impulsively ordered that and the matching sideboard online yesterday sight unseen...a little nervous about that.

-We go back to business attire tomorrow so I went to the mall and bought 2 suits and a pair of pants today.

I'm terrified to see the bills this month.  Oh and I still need to get the outdoor furniture.  The checkbook is going on lockdown asap.

I hit the outlets a few weeks ago before I started the job too...I don't think I need any more clothes for quite a while.  Of course I'm hoping that everything I just bought won't fit soon!!!

  • Those are things that are "needed"! I spent the day looking at kitchen tables/chairs/stools for my kitchen- didn't buy anything yet but I think I found the one I wanted. I wanted to say though, that we bought the island for our kitchen sight unseen and I LOVE more then any I saw in the store so try not to worry!

And good luck with the deck- our house came with one but it was never stained so we spent last summer doing that!

  • Wow.  Sounds like fun.  I just did some minor shopping this weekend, except for booking a hotel.

You are right - we definitely "needed" all of it!  We built our house over 2 years ago and since we moved in February the ground was frozen so we couldn't do the deck then.  So we finally just decided to suck it up and do it.  The good thing is that most of this is one-time spending.  I don't plan to replace my dining room furniture or the deck probably ever and hopefully the outdoor stuff will last a pretty long time too.
