Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Not sure where to look...

I have always a small tatoo on my foot. DH says go for it. And since it will still be weeks since we can TTC again, I figured now was as good as any time. I want a heart with a pair of angels wings in memory of the little baby girl that we lost. i have tried looking on the interent and all i find are the massive wings on peoples' backs. Does anyone know where to look or how to go about having an example to go in with? Also for those of you with them on your feet....how painful was it really? Any advice or thoughts on the subject are welcome.

Thanks to you all, thoughts and prayers always

  • You might have better luck actually going in to a parlor and describing your ideas to one of the artists.  They could probably sketch up something custom for you.  I am also thinking of getting a tattoo in honor of Eliott, but I don't really have any ideas as to what/where yet.  I haven't had one on my foot, but I've heard different things from different people.

  • I would first ask some friends or acquaintances for recommendations for reputable tattoo shops in your area, then I would go in and meet with someone and describe what you want.  The place that I go to get mine (I have 4) does mostly custom work.  The best tattoo-ers are usually really great artists so he/she should be able to draw something for you based on what you describe to them.

I do have a tattoo on my foot.  Getting work done on the side isn't too bad, but I will warn you that the further you go towards the top of your foot, the more it hurts.  There's just less cushion on top - it's closer to the bone so it hurts more.  Hope this helps!

  • I would go into the tattoo shop and talk to one of the artists. I had an idea what I wanted for my memorial tattoo, but couldn't find the perfect picture. My artist did an amazing job and it came out wonderful.
