Creative ways to use up jarred baby food?

We have a ton left. He will occassionally let me feed him a jar but for the most part he wants to do it all on his own.

I'm going to give some to my babysitter, and we've made pancakes with the fruit ones....I was also thinking of trying to make him smoothies? How would I go about doing this???

  • There are lots of recipes using purees in "Deceptively Delicious," things like carrots in spaghetti sauce, squash in mac n cheese etc. You could get some ideas from that.

  • THanks for the tip. Love the idea of using them as a pasta sauce!

  • Blend a jar with a little water or yogurt, a couple ice cubes.

    1. make your own sugar scrubs (really easy) and give them as gifts
    2. if you hammer the lids onto a thin piece of plywood and then mount it on the wall, you can use the jars for nails, bolts, etc.
    3. If I cannot get tomato paste in a squeeze tube, I will put the left over in a jar and freeze.

  • I toss the veggie ones into whatever I am cooking (yes, I still have some!) Soups, stews, casseroles, etc.

  • I've used them up in spaghetti sauce and casseroles, etc. DH doesn't eat veggies, so it's a good way to use  them up and give everyone a little extra nutrition.
