Last night was Night 1 of the Baby sleep solution and it worked out pretty well. I actually started it b/c DS didn't sleep when I BF him which is pretty rare. So after nursing him he was awake b/c of that I was able to hug him and kiss him goodnight and put him in his crib awake. Then we followed the steps to the baby sleep solution.
Well tonight I am worried that he will fall asleep while I BF him, therefore I wouldn't be able to put him down "awake". So tonight should I try BF'ing him with the lights on (they are usually off), just feed him and then wake him up after he falls asleep before I put him to bed or just lay him down after he falls asleep while BF'ing and then continue sleep training? Thanks for any input I really appreciate it!!!!
And if anyone has some successful stories using this method with a 10+ month old LO that would be encouraging too
Thanks again!!!
Re: Those who used "The Baby Sleep Solution"...
We have been using the "Sleep Easy Solution," but it sounds similar and also requires you to put LO in crib awake. The advice they give for BF babies is to pull them off as soon as they get "the drunken sailor look" and say something like "It's not time to sleep sweetie." They say not to let them actually fall asleep. If they do, it might take the edge off and then make it take longer for them to fall asleep on their own. Keeping the lights on might help too. It does work, I bet you'll see results in about a week. GL!
