We had our twin babies last Monday (August 30) at 36w5d, and now they are a week old. I had gone to the dr's for a routine dr's visit, and my blood pressure was creeping up, and I'd started to spill some protein. They sent me to the hospital for blood pressure monitoring and bloodwork. As soon as my labs came back, the dr made the decision to do the c/s that day. We had to wait for several hours b/c I had eaten that morning. At 4:30pm, they took me to the operating room, and after a slow start due to the spinal not taking effect right away, we welcomed Piper Elizabeth and Fletcher John to the world at 5:02pm.
They were absolutely perfect and weighed in at 5lbs 5oz and 5 lb 14 oz. They were able to stay with us the entire time in the hospital and didn't require any NICU or nursery time. And, my recovery is going great so far. I had very little pain after the c/s and was up and around doing things for the babies by Tuesday afternoon. My biggest complaint is a bit of the baby blues...I cry at the drop of a hat. But, I'm sure that will pass soon.
Here is a pic right after they were born:
