FF...heating LO's bottle?

I am currently using the Drop In's and was wondering if any FF mom's heat their LO's formula...and how if using the dropin's system?

I was just using room temp water thinking that it would be easist to get him used to if we were out and I needed to give him a bottle and had no where to heat, and the DR said it was fine to do that, but at times I do feel that the water is too cold, sometimes the powder doesn't mix fully...is it ok to give him warm formula at times and room temp at other times?!

Re: FF...heating LO's bottle?

  • I don't see why it would be a problem to give warm and room temp formula. I also use the drop-ins and I use a coffee cup half filled with water and heat it up in the microwave(45-60 seconds) and stick the bottle in there for 30-60 seconds. This works really well if you are using the 4 oz bottles.

  • Not only do we give room temp bottles, but if we make them up ahead of time we give bottles straight from the fridge too. Our DS never gets bottles we have warmed for him and eats just fine.

  • We use drop-ins and just put them in a cup of hot water until it's warmer.

  • We just use warm tap water with our drop-ins.  Sometimes though it is more like room temp.  Our LO won't take the bottles if they are actually cold.

  • We use 100% room temp water. tried heating it once and she hated it. Makes it very convenient. But we do stick to only bottled water and none with any added things
