c/s incision ??

So I had my c/s almost 5 weeks ago and I noticed that although it looks really good it feels really hard around the incision site. Anyone else notice the same thing? My husband wants to do scar massage therapy to help with the healing, has anyone tried this on their incision? What are you doing to help your scar heal?

Re: c/s incision ??

  • My scar is healed just fine with no hardness.  I would ask a doctor before letting your husband massage the area unless he's a doctor and knows what he's doing.

  • the massaging helps to break up the scar tissue, which is what the hardness is.  pp is right that he should know what he's doing, but yes it's probably a good thing to do.  i think we will do the same thing as mine also has a great deal of hardness in the area.  but mine is still just ever so sensitive to touch so i'm not ready to tdo that yet

  • Mine has no scar tissue but is still pretty sensitive and numb around it.  My ob said that could last a year.  It really stinks because its really itchy and it hurts to itch.  I just started to put vit. E oil on it.
