FFX county swim classes - "swim diapers"

I know this gets asked all the time - but what type of rubber pants or swim diapers did you use for your FFX county swim classes?  On the web site it says there is a new type of "swim diapers", but it doesn't elaborate.  Any info would be great.  We start next weekend.  Can't wait.

Re: FFX county swim classes - "swim diapers"

  • We use the MoCo pools (I'm guessing the guidelines are pretty much the same) and wore the regular huggies swim diaper and a pair of Gerber plastic diaper covers. We got them at Walmart.  I haven't heard about any "new" swim diaper

  • We used the Pampers diapers and when DS had swim classes his trunks had a tight plastic bottom so I didn't have him wear another.  This summer I put one of the Gerber ones on over his Pampers swim diaper because his swim trunks have a mesh liner now.

  • We took a swim class with FFX county earlier this year, and I put DD in Little Swimmers disposable diapers (available at Giant) and an iPlay swim diaper (I got it at Babies R Us, I think), which is not disposable (you wash it in the machine). She looked a little silly with three layers on her bottom, but it worked relatively well. I will say that nothing really holds in the pee, just #2. I didn't know about that until she was wearing all three in her carseat and peed in the car. It was awesome.

    this.

  • For FFX Cty they sell the Gerber plastic pants at the pool.  I think they are $3 - nice if you don't have a chance to get out in advance. The first class they did a visual inspection of all the babies suits to make sure they were appropriately clad.

I was kind of hoping they would do this where we went (wakefield/audrey moore rec center), but they didn't.  No inspection, no sale of plastic pants.  Big lecture on if anything that comes out of baby gets into pool (vomit, poop), we need to tell them so they can evacuate the pool.

  • Thanks for asking - btw are you starting at Audrey moore?  We're taking the Sat am classes but will miss this first lesson :-(

Interesting, we took our class at Providence because Wakefield filled up so quickly.  I thought I remember seeing them for sale in the display case at Wakefield too.  Although it's been a few months since I have been over there.
