Postpartum Depression

Feel alone but have amazing DH and DS

i still feel so alone. besides my DH we do not have any help really. we have friends but no one really offered to help and i feel the ones that have is more of a superficial oh do u need anything - no. ok. lets move on type of thing. my husband is great and he helps when he comes home but i just feel so helpless and tired and i want to sleep. everywhere i read it says accept help that comes your way but we do not have any and i keep thinking about putting LO in daycare when he is so little and work and money and it's just getting unbearable.

  • I feel the same. Like the walls are closing in but I am lucky and we had a lot of help esp in the beg. My best advice is get out! Even just walk around a target or dollar store. It helps to see how much people awww over your LO. I keep wanting to go to work just to get away so I can actually miss LO. I feel like since Im always here I never can even miss her but SO really wants me to stay home and refuses to leave her in Daycare (which given the stories you can here I dont blame him). Just try to get out or get time to yourself. Can you work from home?

  • Talk to your OB, it did me wonders!  Good luck.

  • This is exactly how I felt after my first son and I find myself traveling down the same road again.  I waited 2 weeks to call my dr. with the first pregnancy.  This time I had the appt made in advance..just in case and I'm glad I did.

Getting out and about is a start. But a call to your PCP or OB  would probably be a good thing.  It's so hard to deal with this alone, it will only make you feel more isolated.  What you're experiencing is normal
    Mommy;s need support too.
