I do not want to carry her in kicking and screaming...
I give her a small sticker for sitting on the potty and then I give her a sticker from the treasure box if she goes. This was working okay and now today she does not want to even go sit on the potty. How do I make it more exciting, so she wants to go or am I just wasting my time and I should give up? I just don't want to make this a horrible experience. I am trying to stay as patient as possible. I have been PTing for 2 1/2 weeks now...but she still wears a diaper and I just put her on the potty about 7-8 times a day. She tells me when she has a wet diaper...but sometimes it's a battle for me to change her. I think she is just a stubborn little girl...but other people are telling me she's too young. I know you don't know my DD but what's your opinion.
Re: My child does not want to stop playing to sit on the potty!
1- I would try a higher value reward. DD gets 1 M&M if she goes pee or poop. And a sticker on her chart, that she is super proud to show off to anyone who will look!
2- I think diapers and Pull Ups were hindering our progress, so I switched right to panties. There are a ton of messes, but she also VERY much realizes when she has had an accident and gets very upset. I don't think the feeling is the same when they pee in a diaper. The sensation of it falling everywhere, vs going nowhere (in a diaper) is very different.
