School-Aged Children

Hi ladies!

I am glad I found this board, it will be nice to have somewhere to go to tlak about our older kids.

I am a SAHM to 3 wonderful boys.  My oldest, Blake, is 10 and in 5th grade.  I am hoping this school year is a lot better than last year.  He has ADHD and I had numerous phone calls from school last year regarding him.  So far so good this year.

Our other 2 boys are the young ones.  Jeremiah is 2 and our newest addition, Carter, just turned a month old today.

Hi!  Welcome!  You have such small babies!  Glad there wasn't a NICU stay with your newest addition Smile

I have 2 boys (DS1 is almost 7 years and DS2 is just shy of 6 months).  We're thinking of having another (would loooove another boy).  DS1 is great with DS2 and DS2 just adores DS1.  How does your DS1 do with the 2 younger being so close in age?  My DS1 says he would love another baby sibling, and although he is great with DS2, I'm no so sure it would still be the case if we had a 3rd. I wouldn't want DS1 to feel "left out" (for better words) because he's so much older.  Can you tell me more about the kid's dynamics?

DS1 loves the baby until he gets to be DS2 age.  We have not had any jealous issues with DS1 because the other 2 are closer in age.  But that is not to say that we wont, because I am sure at one point or another  we will.   For the most part he is more worried about school and friends than his brothers.

And DS2 adores his baby brother.  I really have to watch him close otherwise he is trying to pick him him or feed him.  I think they are going to be great friends.

    Hello and welcome!

Would you mind telling me what kinds of problems your son had in school before being diagnosed with ADHD? Our son's teacher recommended that we have him tested and we are in the process of researching everything.

He was always getting in trouble for talking, not sitting still, crying, throwing fits ect.  He currently sees the school counselor, a private counselor and soon a psychologist.  He was on Ritalin but that did not seem to do the trick so he is currently on Wellbutrin.  We are hoping last year was just a bad year and this one will be better.
