    I got a friend's 4-year-old a Fancy Nancy book and then a dress-up outfit that went with the story.  For K's birthday, I think we're getting her some board games, dresses (that's all she wants to wear, ever), maybe roller skates...you could also do read-along books with tape/CD, or Zhu Zhu pets, which are apparently all the rage!

    My daughter will be four in a couple weeks and these are things she's asking: Fancy Nancy dress up clothes, Pinkalicious doll (at walmart for 19.99), Disney Princess dolls, Barbies, Fancy Nancy books, Princess dresses, Polly Pockets (but with a baby around, not the best option because there are TINY pieces), V-Tech laptop (19.99 at Target).
