He is very professional and very kind. He will drive the bus but you will mostly see residents for the frequent ultrasounds and procedures. The process can be very discouraging and on the whole the department is not warm and fuzzy but they get the job done.
They are very realistic and nothing happens quickly but again, very professional. Is this your first time down the infertility path? I had no idea what I was in for and most of the information in chat rooms and blogs is incorrect. I am a medical professional and I think they assumed I knew more about the treatment modality than I actually did. Let me know if you have any questions...and very best wishes on your goal

Thanks so much for the details. We are trying for our first baby. I have looked online for as many reviews as possible. I have not found any negative feedback on Dr. Toth yet which is promising. I am pretty far out of the city, but RSCNewangland (in Lexington MA and much closer for me) doesn't seem to have as many glowing reviews.
I highly recommend Dr. Oskowitz at Boston IVF. My DH and I went through 4 IVF/ICSI cycles with Fertility Center of N.E., with no success. We transferred over to Boston IVF and became pregnant with my DS who is now 17 months, from our 1st IVF treatment with Dr. Oskowitz. I am now 13 wks pregnant with identical twins, without the use of IVF.

I see that they have office all over...including Concord which would be great for me. Which location was yours?
...to help in your decision making distance can be an issue. Once you get into a cycle, you need daily or everyother day ultrasounds and blood draws that the MGH clinic only does from 7A-830A with about a 15-25 minute waiting time.
Is this just for the MGH IVF treatment? I had my 1st baby at MGH and am going back for my second. I've had various u/s at different points during the day, including last minute. Same for blood work. Not sure if the IVF office procedures are different than the obgyn office, but my experience w/ them has been fantastic. Occassionaly I had to wait for awhile in the waiting room, but I never really minded b/c I know they fit everyone in who has an "emergency".
unrelated, and I've said this before, I loved delivering my baby there. Loved the maternity floor. Out of a 5 night / 6 day stay I had 3 bad nurses. All the rest were wonderful and so were the NP.
It is just for IVF. I spoke to my ongyn yesterday and she is confident that I will get just as good service from Lexington. She said that with all the appts I need it would be much easier for me to stay local. She also said that although Boston IVF has an office at Emerson you still have to go to their Boston location for testing. She recommended Dr. Pang so I think I will schedule an appt and see how it goes. Thanks for all the great advice girls.
I went into the city for consults with Dr. Oskowitz, other than that everything (blood work, ultrasounds, iui, retrievals & transfers) was done in Waltham. I had a great experience in Waltham and you can choose to see a Doctor there and keep everything in 1 place. I just used Dr. Oskowitz because a friend had similar issues as myself and had success after following his treatment plan.
I have also heard great things about Lexington and know a girl who struggled with infertility for years. She transferred over to Lexington RSC and now has 3 healthy children.
Hi. It has been a few weeks since you last posted so I don't know if you will be checking this thread, but I wanted to ask about how you chose Dr. Oskowitz. We are going through ivf (2 failed cycles at RSC, which I liked but it just didn't work) and I would like to switch to BostonIVF since they seem to have some drs. who will work with older patients (over 40). I also read great comments about Dr. B. Berger and Dr. Penzias and didn't know if you considered them, or why went with Dr. O. We do have a mtg. with him, but given my age and the cost I'm trying to consider this decision carefully. I know dif. drs. will perform ER, ET, but I'm focusing on finding someone who can come up with a good protocol for over 40, dor, few eggs (3) at retrival.

Sorry meant to say "Yes that is right." I was bumping from my phone, and had some sort of problem. Ha ha ha.
