root beer?

anyone know if root beer is safe to drink while you're pregnant? I've been avoiding all caffeinated sodas and no diet drinks... i'm having one of those days though where water and really everything does not sound good.

    get some caffeine free root beer..I guzzle the stuff when I have a craving for it..although my mom just got me some licorice root to chew on..yuck!

    I forgot who, but someone on here has been living off of it. I think it's safe as it's normally not caffeinated.

    pop, soda, whatever you call in in itself is not good for you, but I am pretty sure root beer isn't caffeinated.

    That's me! Wink  The only root beer you shouldn't drink is Barq's.  It has caffine, which is where the "bite" comes from.  The "woman's ER" and my doctor are both totally ok with it.

    You are allowed 200 mg (I think that's the right number) of caffeine a day during pregnancy safely.  Everything in moderation.

    Barq's Root Beer does have caffeine.. go figure it is my favorite.  But, as pp said.  You can have caffeine.  No need to freak out and give yourself headaches.  My doctor even said that if it relieves your stress the moderation in the end is better for your baby!!

    It's totally OK to have. I lived off the stuff in the first 7 weeks. Just like Twinkz.

    There should be a rootbeer club.  I told DH yesterday that I can't wait for the Octoberfest down in this middle of nowhere town because they have homemade rootbeer.  It's AMAZING and a million times better than the fake stuff at the store.  Mmmm, hurry up middle of October lol

    I get A&W at work if I am craving pop as its the only thing that is in the machine that doesn't have caffeine. must be a pg thing.
