J was born with blue eyes and they're still blue (she'd 8 weeks). They were dark blue and they're getting lighter. A always had dark eyes, grey then green and finally brown. I know that the eyes can change all during the first year, I'm just curious if blue eyes early on = blue eyes forever. Both grandmothers have light colored eyes and J favors mom (a lot) so we're wondering if she got her eyes too. Thanks!
Re: If your kiddo has blue eyes please come in!
My pedi said you can't count on an eye color "sticking" until they are at least 2 years old. Tru's are blue and expected to stay that way. Mathis' are blue with a hazel ring like PP. I bet his will change since he favors me so much more and my eyes are green (while T favors DH, whose eyes are blue).
Aren't most babies born with blue eyes?
Most Caucasian babies are born with blue eyes.
Both boys has blue eyes when they were babies. Joshua's eyes are much more hazel now and Gabriel's are blue/green depending on the light and what he is wearing.
Abbie's eyes were a very deep blue when she was born. Like the color of dark wash denim.
They stayed very dark blue for about a year and then started to get lighter. Now (age 6) they are a lighter blue.

Vivian's eyes were a dark grey-blue when she was born and are starting to get lighter, with a grey ring around them.
We know she's going to have blue eyes regardless, since DH and I both have them; the question is whose eyes will they be the most like. My eyes are a bright blue with a brown crack around the pupil and a grey outer ring; DH's are greeny-blue. I think my eyes were set by around 6 months. DH's changed a bit here and there and finally settled when he was a teenager. I'm sort of betting on her getting more my eye color since her eyes are one of the few traits she got from me.
Addie's are bright blue, they're exact copies of DH's and always have been the same color.
Mine were blue until I was almost 5, with the green ring around the middle. Now they're mostly green. It was a weird late change.
It's genetic and recessive.
My first retained his. My second will likely retain his, too. Reason being, my husband, his father, his mother, my mother, and I all have light eyes. The first three have blue, blue. My father is the renegade with brown eyes which could come through into the mix, but is highly unlikely, statistically.
Sam was born with blue eyes but by 4-5 months or so they turned greenish hazel. Now they're a green-brown hazel.
Hannah was born with brown eyes.
Neither DH nor I have blue eyes, but both of our fathers do. Sarah has blue eyes and Elizabeth's are more greenish like DH and me.
I have brown DH has blue. Both our kids have blue eyes. I really thought Luca's might turn darker and they were bright blue when he was born. Now they are blue or blue/green depending on what he wears. Lila's started dark blue and have lightened up. They are super bright sparkly blue. I doubt that they will change. I'm the only brown eyed person in our family
