I never had it and it makes me a bit worried. I hear chicken pox when pregnant is bad (worse than a container of cream cheese :P). My mom never got it either, she was a carrier, but never got chicken pox. My OB (the idiot ones) ran a blood test to see if I ever had it and didn't know (I didn't think people were that lucky), but they didn't tell me the results, cause they're the idiot OBs.
Guess there's nothing I can do at this point, but just curious, anyone else never have chicken pox?
Re: Anyone never have chicken pox?
There's a vaccine you can get as an adult to prevent getting chicken pox - but I'm not sure what the side effects are when pregnant.
I have never gotten either. But I did get the chicken pox shot when I was a teenager when it first came out.
I never had it either. My best friend in 3rd grade had it and we were inseparable during the contagious period and I never got it. My friends in middle school used to try to push me to go to a friends house who had it so I would get it. I've also never been vaccinated for it either.
I will be asking my OB about it at my appointment next month.
