Growing up, my dad marked our growth in a doorway. Since we will be moving (lots), I'm trying to find a portable growth chart for the boys. I don't like the flimsy hanging ones with cartoon characters. I need something pretty substantial and I'm thinking of just buying yardsticks. Where can you buy yardsticks? Ever seen a really wide one? Anybody sell a decorated yardstick? Decorate it myself? Thanks.

Re: Portable growth chart for our military "brats"?
You could have one of the paper hanging ones laminated.
Alternatively, yardsticks are usually available at craft and hardware stores.
Also, check Etsy.
We actually had to buy a cabinet/pantry in our last house and we started using that for the boys' growth charts!
A friend of mine made one several years ago from a piece of wood that was about 4 inches wide and 3 feet tall. Fancied it up with ribbons and paint and stencils. It was super cute. But I am not the creative at all.
This is what we will be doing as well. I think ones like these are so much cuter!
