So I was thinking about you when I driving to dinner with DH tonight. I seen some people do some fund raising thing- asking friends and family to donate. I bet if you started something on here people would be able to pitch in. Obviously from the amount of replies on the post you are well loved. I mean if everyone gave 10 bucks it would add up fast. Also, if I'm KU'd I have 900 IU of follistim in my fridge that you can have. I know it's not much it's my suggestion. Sorry again.
I'm so sorry Kona. NC is one of the lovely states that doesn't pay for IVF or most fertility treatments. My Mom always told me though where there is a will, there is a way and I know since you are a woman of this board, you are an incredibly strong woman and you will find a way.
My RE has a program that was developed, almost like a scholarship program, that you have to write in and be selected to receive the grant. The program pays almost entirely for your IVF treatments. Maybe there is an RE in your area that does the same thing, just a thought.

((hugs)) I'm so sorry. I hope your insurance reconsiders. Try seeing if they cover the meds under the medical part of your plan instead of the prescription plan. My insurance covers them through my medical part of the plan so I have to order through mail order pharmacy's. I only found out it was covered this way thanks to the finance office at my RE.

I am so sorry girl.............I do know there is an appeals process with the insurance company, Im not sure what the process entails but maybe this info will help. It looks like a lot of girls gave some really good info, I hope that one of them gives you the resources necessary to move on with the process. ((((hugs))))

Oh honey, I'm so sorry. Are you on the Trouble TTC or Infertility board? Both of these boards have a donated meds program for those that are OOP.
I wish I could do or say more. ((HUGS))
ETA: Have you considered writing a letter to your insurance company? I read about a woman who wrote to her insurance company, asking for IVF to be covered, explaining why she needed IVF to expand her family, and the costs of it OOP. Write a very heartfelt, detailed letter, appealing to the emotions of the reader. By law, health insurance companies can't deny you from expanding your family.

Kona, I'm so so sorry. Insurance does suck when it comes to IF (and many other things.) Check out the OOP donations, someone manages a list on the IF board...that may help.

I am so sorry for your news.
