Actually, I think I'm thinking more of mattress than the bed itself. We have a queen size mattress, very comfortable, however....I feel every.single.thing. DH does.
I have struggled with being tired for as long as I can remember. I can fall asleep just fine and I don't recall getting up a lot in the middle of the night. I have had blood tests run, everything checks out (doctor wanted to rule out thyroid issues). It finally dawned on me that maybe it's *DH* who is the problem. He has been trying to get in and out of bed more carefully when I'm sleeping (midnight bathroom run or when he gets up for work). However, the man rolls over with the grace of a giant gorilla and he can't help that when he's sleeping.
The kicker? I can't fall asleep when he's not next to me (happens a lot during snowplowing season). So separate beds would be out of the question...and not our style anyway:) Does anyone have one of those mattresses where you can't feel every move your sleep partner makes? Ours isn't exactly old but I definitely wouldn't do the "wine glass/jumping on the bed" test with it, lol.
Re: What type of bed do you have?
We have a king size Tempurpedic and LOVE it! We've had it for almost 2 years now and would't trade it for the world. I can't feel when DH rolls over, gets up for the middle of the night bathroom run or even when he gets up in the morning. DH has this strange habit of shaking one foot when he falls asleep and it used to drive me NUTS, now I can't even feel that. I know they are a lot of money but a good bed is worth it to me. The average adult spends 1/3 of their life in bed.
We had the Serta memory foam mattress before the Tempurpedic. It was good and it did the trick but the Tempurpedic is more comfortable. It has more memory foam so it molds to your body a little better.
Another vote for Tempurpedic. We love ours! And they have a 20 year warranty.
We have a Queen size pillowtop mattress and I will never buy one again because there are the two indents where we both sleep and it's higher in the middle. It ticks me off that I spent all this money on this mattress and it did this.
My parents have one of the memory foam type mattresses where you can jump up and down on one side and not feel it on the other and they love it. I've laid in it and it's really comfortable. That will be the next kind of mattress we get. They're definitely more expensive, but you'll also never have to buy another mattress again.
