it was a misunderstanding for the loan intentions with our credit union. They will not finance these matters whatsoever.

Have you looked into Care Credit? It is financing specifically for medical stuff (even elective stuff like plastic surgery). It is interest free if you pay within a certain time frame. Might be worth a quick search.
