XP: Super dumb question about Pull-Ups

Hayden is totally PTd when she is awake. At night I still put her in overnight diapers because she pees a TON overnight. For naptime, I was using up the remainder of our regular diapers. Those are now done. So, my question is - should I buy Pull-Ups or diapers since she still needs something? I know a lot of people on here use Pull-Ups for naptime and overnight...but I was wondering if there is a benefit of using those over diapers? Is it just for the ease of getting them on/off? Since they are less absorbent, is the point to let LOs feel wet when they are sleeping so that they eventually don't go while they are sleeping?

Re: XP: Super dumb question about Pull-Ups

  •  I find my kids feel /felt dry in pull ups.  if dd is getting up in the night or nap to go potty on her own, then I'd say, pull ups for starters (or a good, thick trainer).. but if she's sleeping through it and you have to bring her to the potty first thing in the am, I'd go with whatever package is cheapest for the count.

  • i stuck with diapers because they were the cheaper choice and IMO pull-ups are a glorified diaper.

  • We went to pull ups the second he came out of the crib and into a big boy bed.

We did our big "over night dry training" at the same time he switched to a bed emphasizing that he needed to get up and go to the potty first thing upon waking.

If she's still in the crib I wouldn't sweat it but once she's in a bed I'd go pull ups just to encourage her to go to the potty by herself when she needs to.

Heck... my oldest knew how to get a diaper off himself in order to use the potty first thing upon waking so I guess that kinda blows the whole pull up thing outta the water, huh?

Anyway.... we used pull ups because they were more like underwear behaviorally.

Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
  • we used pullups mostly b/c Griffin was really big and diapers didn't fit him well anymore- pullups were more comfy- and he felt like a big boy in them.

but he also didn't pee a ton by then - so being less absorbant was never an issue...... they kept  him dry - he rarely complained about being wet in them.

when we PT'd him we went right to undies and pullups only at night. (undies at nap)
