eh, IMO vision and dental usually sucks and you end up paying for most out of pocket anyway. I'd try and negotiate with your dentist for cleanings, I'm sure they'd give you some kind of cash discount. and you can get vision stuff at costco if you are members.

Congrats to your DH! Sometimes I see dental cleaning/xray deals on Groupon sometimes. Monte doesn't have dental insurance so I think that's what we will do for him.

I know our dental and vision blows chunks! Groupon for cleanings! There's always good ones!
And I opted out of vision insurance. It was cheaper to just pay for the once a year exam and contacts/glasses out of pocket than to pay the monthly premiums. And if there's something really wrong with your eyes, then it becomes a medical condition and medical insurance covers it.
A lot of health insurance plans cover one eye exam at an eye doctors annually. I did not know about this provision in my plan until I read about it in the guide and asked about it--it had been there for all the years I worked in that district! Point is, you may still get a little coverage for an eye exam--read the guide!
