Babies on the Brain

s/o Getting KU without insurance

My BF from high school is trying to right now, and DH and I are avoiding her for it. We don't think it's right, and her and her DH are trying to abuse their Medicaid.

The have one child already. They both go to school FT and barely work at their PT jobs. They live in an apartment on the back of her grandparents' house rent-free.

She thinks it will be easier to have another baby now so she doesn't have to pay for it. Nope, the rest of us will pay for it instead! Hmm

I seriously don't understand why people think this is OK. It is morally and ethically disgusting.

I'm trying really hard to avoid her. But I think eventually I'll have to tell her how I feel.

  • this friend would hate me, because I would tell her how it is & how much she sucks for doing that.
  • Is your friend my SIL? Surprise

  • My SIL was trying to get pregnant when they didn't have insurance.  When my husband told her that isn't the wisest idea because at the time we have a baby in the NICU and her costs were about 1 million dollars.  Her only response was that she believed that God would provide for her.  Yep God ended up being the taxpayers of California.
  • It drives me insane when people think like this. My bff tried to sell me on this idea right after dh and I got married and she and a ton of other friends were pg. Um, yeah I had just graduated, was barely getting any hours at my pt job, could not find a ft job anywhere, and we were living on ramen and the cheap mac and cheese. Yeah, a baby would have been a great idea.
