Ugly veins on legs??

The veins on my left leg are SO UGLY!  Some of them stick out a little, not like varicose veins...yet.. although I'm sure they will be someday.  But ugh, they are ugly!  I first noticed them with my first pregnancy and I think they are already worse this time around.  Why only one leg, and is there anything I can do about them??  Anyone else having this problem?

A silver lining...jeans/pants season is coming up!

  • I don't have any suggestions but just letting you know you are not alone!  Yes, good thing fall/winter is coming up!

  • My mom has this problem, her one leg has vericose veins. She has flabitis(sp?) in that leg, from what I gather it is poor circulation and it can cause clots. I think vericose veins require surgery, but some kind of vein is treatable with saline injections, I just don't rmember which one.

  • I have what my doctor refers to as superficial veins on my shins (one far worse than the other).  I've had it for years, but so far it hasn't gotten worse with pregnancy, although we're keeping an eye on it.
  • Yes, I have this problem.  I got one little spider vein my first pregnancy, but this time it seemed like tons popped up almost as soon as I got my BFP.  My mom has these veins too, and it's hereditary (thanks a lot mom!).  From what I have read the only real way to get rid of them is through sclerotherapy - where they use needles to inject this solution into the vein and then it disappears (or fades, depending on how bad it is).  Personally, I will be doing this after LO arrives, as I am not ready to be done wearing shorts at 26 years old!
  • Me too!!!  I have this one vein down the back of my left leg that is so gross.  I swear I noticed it before my bfp and I KNEW I was pregnant because of it.  GROSS.  At least I have pregnancy cellulite now to match it.  My lower half is a freaking disaster area.   And yes, hooray for pants!!
