What kind of car do you drive and also how many children do you have? This is baby 3 for us so we're considering the big leap into....VAN *gasp*.. we currently have a Nissan Murano, which will fit 3 car seats (we have sunshine radians) but it is TIGHT. Love to hear your thoughts!
Re: Poll: What kind of vehicle do you drive?
Me: 1999 Nissan Pathfinder
DH: 2003 Toyota Matrix
We will be buying a new vehicle before the end of the year. We're currently going back and forth between replacing the Matrix and having me drive the new one (I have a longer commute and Matrix gets better gas mileage, DH works from home) and buying a minivan in a few years, or trading the Pathfinder and getting a minivan now.
I been wanting a Minivan for awhile now. I like the Toyota or the Honda.
I have a Chrysler Pacifica which will need to trade in before the baby comes since I wont have enough room
Husband: Toyota Corolla
Me: BMW 330ci, which is the sports coupe.
This is our first and after we buy a house, I will be trading in my bimmer..sniffle sniffle. I love my car, but it's going to be hard to get the car seat in an out of a 2 door. We are looking at the Mercedes ML350. I am not a fan of SUVs because they are too big, but these SUVs are nice and small for me.
We have 3 children ( including my unborn baby). My DH drives a Tahoe
This will be #1 for us!
I drive a Nissan Rogue and DH drives a old Toyota Tacoma-so we are looking for a cheap used upgrade for him.
Me: Jeep Compass
MH: Lexus GS 350
This is baby #1 for us so we still have room. I refuse to get a van! So I told MH I will get a larger SUV when we have another one.
my angel babies: 6/10 (chem. pg), 9/10 @ 10 weeks
Me: 2010 Buick Lacross
DH: 2003 Chevy Silverado SS or 2000 Chevy S10
This will be our first baby. Both the Buick and the Silverado will hold the entire family. The S10 will be mommy and daddy's fun car. Or daddy and baby's...
We drive a new Kia Soul ... for the price you get a ton of great features! I do miss my mini cooper though
We have a Chevy Malibu (DH) and Chrysler Pacifica (me, crossover vehicle). We will be replacing the Pacifica within the next year to get a mini-van. Although this baby will just be #2, we also have a Golden Retriever and we take frequent camping trips. Between leaving space for the dog, adding in the cooler and the stroller (soon to be double), we need the van!
Owen Anders: labor (natural onset), failed VBAC, emergency c/s.
This was us last February when we bought the Murano. LOL I've said my entire life I will NEVER NEVER EVERRRRR buy a van..then when we started thinking about having a 3rd baby we sat in a van at a dealership.. oh man.. it'll make life so much easier. We found out that day that we will be upside down on our car loan b/c it had been wrecked before we bought it(which the dealer told us "there had been a little work to the front", young and stupid us trusted him (stupid, stupid, stupid), so now we have to decide if we want to wait it out and have 3 carseats in the murano and no space or tack on 3-4 grand to a new car and start over in paying a car off.. ugh..
Need a laugh? My Blog to the rescue!
Me: 2005 Toyota Corolla
DH: 2002 Toyota Tundra
This is our second baby...we are keeping our car/truck for now as we have no car payments...maybe in the future will get a family car/Van/suv...but I think when they are little its okay
Me: 2007 Toyota 4Runner
DH: 2008 Chevy Tahoe (company vehicle)
This is our second...and probably last...baby. Even having a SUV I feel tight on space now. I think it is because DH's Tahoe has so much more room than mine. If I could get a new car now, I would probably get the GMC Acadia. If we were having 3 kids, I would get an Armada, or Tahoe.
dh: 2006 VW Passat
me: 2006 VW GLI sports sedan
this is our first baby, and we have no immediate plans to get a new car. dh's car will be paid off in november, and we're looking forward to having that money back, but in a few years we'll probably trade his in and get something a little more family-friendly (but not a van!) depending on how many kiddos we have at that point.
i intend to keep my hot red sports car as long as possible
I drive a Jaguar X-Type & DH drives a Nissan 350z. Both are way too small! My car is under repair, so I've been driving around in his little 2 door sports car. NOT GOOD for sore boobies and having to go pee every 2 minutes.
We have to decide to get a new car or sell his most prized possession.
This is baby #1 for us.
My husband has a 2006 4-door Chevy Silverado, and we'll keep that when we have this kid. We specifically picked it because it has a huge backseat and can easily hold a carseat.
I have a 2004 Acura RSX-S (basically a sport 2-door Honda Civic). I'll be replacing this, probably with an Infiniti G37. While I don't think you need a huge car or SUV with a single kid, trying to manuver a carseat in the back of this car is probably unrealistic.
My husband is going to be a SAHD, so it's more important that his car hold the carseat than mine.
me: 06 Honda Accord
DH: 06 Subara WRX STi
just paid off the Subaru 4 months ago. My car will be paid off early next spring (about 6 months). So we plan to keep both for a while.

Me: Honda Civic
DH: Ford Escort Sport
This is our first, and we won't be buying a new car. I have my heart set on a Honda CRV, but it won't be in the budget for a long time.
THIS!
Me: Honda Civic
DH: Chevy Silverado
My civic is paid off but has 100k+ miles, as we make a lot of road trips in it. DH's truck is a two-door with no backseat. I suppose we'll try to make do with what we have for awhile, since this will be our first, but I'd really like to upgrade soon. Always wanted a CRV, but may just get another Civic. We have two dogs we take with us on road trips too...thank heavens they're small!
Big Sis: Born 4/15/11
Lil Sis: Due 7/9/16
DH: Drives a Toyota Tacoma
Me: Honda CR-V. Our family lives 5 states away. It is going to be tight when we drive for Christmas w/ 2 dogs, presents + baby gear.
I drive a new Camry but we got it before we decided on having 3.
3 car seats fit in the back (very very tight and cozy:). We'll survive.. but might eventually get a van or car or whatever with 3 rows of seating.
I just picture my 3 brothers and I growing up shoved into a station wagon before mini vans were invented.. and I think, Hey! we made it out alive and so will my kids!!
ME: Toyota RAV4
DH: VW Jetta
My RAV4 is coming off lease in January (I am due in April) and DH is trying to convince me to get one of the new Subaru Outbacks! They are very nice, but I still like my SUV! I don't know what to do, lol!
1st baby for us.
DH - 99 CHevy Silverado. WIll be upgrading this soon to a 4 door F150, probably
Me: 08 BMW 328i (4 dr)
We also have my old civic that we will be keeping as a beater car for my DH.
This is baby #2 for us.
I drive a Volvo XC70.
DH drives a Tacoma.
No plans to make a change. The Volvo is our primary car when traveling together and there is plenty of room in the cab and a huge cargo area.
Me:2006 Lexus ES330
DH: 2006 GMC sierra
This will be our second baby and we are planning on waiting a while before having #3 (5 yrs or so.) When we are ready for that I will definatly be getting van/SUV with a third row of seats, but I am not sure which one.
Rachel and Jeff Married 5.29.05
Jason is 8
Elizabeth is 6
Katherine is 18 months
My husband and I both have 2 seaters we use for our daily commute, but I bought a Honda Element when we started TTC and I LOVE it. DH bought a CRV last year when we first got pregnant and didn't like it, so he sold it and got a Civic. However, we've been looking for a mazdaspeed 6 for him.
This will be our first child, but we have 4 dogs that we take with us often. My element is so perfect for us! I'd buy another in a second.

DS - 03.15.08
DD2 - 12.03.09
DD3 - 3.28.11
DH: 06 Honda Accord
Me: 07 GMC Yukon
This is baby number 1 for us. No plans to get any new cars. DH commutes 100+ miles for work daily and the Accord has plenty of room is he takes s/he anywhere and my Yukon has a 3rd row. I have more than enough room which is why we bought it last year when starting TTC.
Me: Dodge Avenger
FI: Dodge Ram
I had a Ford Edge, but traded it back in March. Now I'm wishing I still had it, but we weren't exactly planning to start a family just yet. My FI is looking for a new truck that has back seats so that will help out some.
