Postpartum Depression

Best Hotline

So i was recently put back on anti anxiety meds and told I couldnt breast feed(by an ARNP). Then yesterday my ped (an MD) said that I could still BF on my meds. So being torn I turned to the internet and found a hotline that has information for Mothers and Mothers to be. The number I called is exclusively for "breast feeding and meds". You talk to an expert with fact. the number is 416-813-6780. They also can help with all sorts of information. Wish I had found it sooner....... hope it helps someone

Re: Best Hotline

  • The number is for the MotheRisk hotline that is at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children.

I used it for information on medication while breastfeeding as well as when I was pregnant.  They are wonderful and can not only give you advice but detailed information on the quantities of certain medications that will be expelled with the breast milk as well as both the long term and short term possible effects.

They do so much research and I also encourage anyone who has any questions to use them as a resource.
