For those who don't know, DeltaDee's daughter, Reagan, has Rett Syndrome, a neurological disorder in the autism spectrum affecting mainly girls. The girls start out appearing healthy and then somewhere between 6 months and two years old they start to exhibit symptoms and begin to lose skills. Many lose the ability to walk. Rett Syndrome can be fatal.
I can only imagine what DeltaDee goes through on a daily basis. Let's help her out! She's heading up a Stroll-a-thon on September 18th at 9 AM at Walter Long Park to raise money for Rett research. Some of us have formed a team to walk - please either join us on the team to walk that morning or donate to one of our pages.

If you need help setting up a page or donating, feel free to let me (or one of the other team members know).
And if you need one more reason to donate, Rett Syndrome is one of the few autism spectrum disorders that is tied to an identifiable chromosomal cause. If we can find a cure for Rett Syndrome, it could unlock the key to finding a cure for the other disorders!

Thanks Taffy and Mollie, you guys said it so much better than I could. I'm on the team too and want to do everything I can to help out Deltadee and raise money to find a cure for Rett Syndrome!
I hope we can show her some great nestie support!
Thank you for all the support and for spreading the word. Raising awareness of Rett Syndrome is just as important to me as raising donations.
I would like to add that this event is going to be a fun day for the family! In addition to the one mile walk/stroll in the park, there will be an inflatable bouncer, face painters, concession stand, silent auction, a DJ, a wonderful nestie photographer (thanks Mollie!) and Kevin Black (as in Clint's brother) will also be doing a live performance to close out the event.
I would love to see you all there!
Thanks for posting- I will try to make it w/ my family, but I will definitely make a donation.
Delta- is it a new round of voting for the Pepsi thing?
Do you (Delta or naclh2otaffy) mind if I post a link to the donation page on my FB? Most of my friends are social workers and would love the opportunity to give/spread awareness about Rett Syndrome.
Just thought I'd ask before.
I'm sure it's fine with both of us to post the links. The more people that know, the better!
Ditto!
