I don't know how to fix it, but you aren't alone! The pacifiers I had on mine kept changing to pink even after I would change them back to blue or green. Since it was such a small item I just deleted it, but I'm not sure why it would be doing that in the first place. Maybe it has something to do with inventory available? Mmmm or maybe it's just on certain items?
Annoying isn't it? I have heard it's been happening for a looong time, I e-mailed their customer service to complain and to say I couldn't believe it takes this long to fix something like that. This is the response I got:
"On behalf of BabiesRUs.com, I would like to extend my sincerest
apologies for any frustration caused by this issue. Certain items that
we carry exist as part of a collection and are grouped together. When
these items are added to the registry, they may display another item of
the collection, not the particular item you have requested. Please be
assured that we are working to rectify this error."
My guess is it will never be fixed though, it's been going on a looong time.
DS (7 years old) from FET in 2010 DD (5 years old) from IUI in 2012 TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!
I asked specifically about this issue when I went in to register. What I was told was that smaller items, i.e. pacifiers & cups that come in multiple colors are NOT going to show your color selection because they use the same UPC codes. Larger items, like sheet sets etc. WILL show the specific item because they have their own UPC.
It helps to know why, but it is still VERY annoying!!

This makes sense, but wish that it would at least show up as a neutral color rather than a more gender specific color. That way if someone purchases it before you catch it, it'd be gender neutral.
2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".

This. The registry chick told me that after my shower i can just bring in all the things with the wrong color/pattern and exchange them. A hassle? yes, but I'll likely have to go in there anyways to complete the registry so oh well.
I don't know if this will solve the problem, but when you go to register in store try scanning the exact item's upc code on the back instead of the code on the hook that it's on. It obviously doesn't help if you register online though.

I haven't had that issue.. the only issue I had with BRU was my own dumb fault...
I didn't realize that 1/2 the stuff I picked was only available online. most of my guests are the 50+ "what the hell is the internet" crowd.
...just a heads up: look at the availability (as in, in store or online) when you make your registry.
