Doing well but doesnt actually tell me??

We are on Day 2 here, she 26 months old. Doing underwear during the day and diapers for naps and sleep. She seems to be doing well, many more successes than accidents but shes not actually telling me she needs to go. She seems to hold it about 2 hrs and then starts grabbing at herself and pulling on her panties. So I take her in and she is going! I'm excited about that but should she be telling me....or not yet?

Re: Doing well but doesnt actually tell me??

  • We're at the same stage but about 2 weeks in (?). If I don't catch him around the 2-3 hour mark, when he's showing signs, like your DD, we have an accident. Today was the first in a week and it was my fault for not catching it. But I wish he'd start saying. I'm hoping it comes soon - but I know he's early, so I'm trying to be patient.

  • How great that she's doing so well on day 2! Definitely give it some more time. This is our 2nd week and mine just started saying something when she *starts* to pee. I just keep telling her when I know it's coming to "tell mommy when you have to peepee" and when she starts going  I tell her "say peepee".
