acupressure during labor

I just came across this article today talking about how pressure at the SP6 region (just above the inner ankle, see below) significantly reduced time of active labor, rate of C-sections, etc etc.

I thought it might be a useful thing to try for natural laborers!  I will certainly have my husband try this! :)  I am guessing this is the reason that some massage therapists avoid performing ankle/foot massages on pregnant ladies?

    Our TCM doctor showed DH 3 or 4 different points on me to press during labour.  She also put seeds on different places in my ears for me to press, too. 

    All of the above did get my contractions to come closer together when they were spreading out.
