Ergo colors

I have the opportunity to buy a barely used Ergo from a local bumpie.  However, it's in black.  I'm wondering if it will be too darn hot for summer time wear.  Or is it just too hot during summer for a carrier anyways?

I didn't wear Caroline at all this summer because she was just about too big for the carrier I have and I've been having a lot of back pain and didn't want to add to it.

Re: Ergo colors

  • My Ergo is brown & I wear it every evening on walks.  It is too hot to wear during the heat of the day, but really I think any color would be too hot.

They have a new Ergo called the Performance that's supposed to be a lot cooler.  I wish I would have waited and got that one instead.  Actually I may sell my organic and buy one, but I have to wait until DH forgets about my Beco purchase. Stick out tongue

  • Yeah it's a really warm carrier, but it's a nice one.  I'm a Mommy's Helper back in San Diego (er... I was...) and since I can't lift anything heavier than 10 pounds my Ergo was my life saver.  I had a red one and like pp said, any of them will be hot.

  • I have the black tattoo one and yeah it is a little hot. I kind of wish I had bought the sport one.
  • Sooooo, for 60 bucks for an Ergo that's been worn for about 5 minutes - worth it?  Even if it is black? (Her DD hated it and would only allow to be carried front facing.)
  • I would say go for it.  You are going to sweat under the belt anyway, regardless of the color, and mine is black and I use it in the summer for running errands.  Although, rumor has it they are going to have Ergos on babysteals soon.  Maybe wait until babysteals posts their steal for tomorrow, I think they put the light pink one on sometimes.  Not sure how much they cost on there though.  That wasn't very helpful LOL.
  • That's a good price -- I would go for it!  Fall is almost here anyway. Smile

That's what I figure.  Plus the next baby will be born in the winter so I'll have time then to get a lot of use out of it before the summer hits.

    Thanks ladies!
