My twins came home on a monitor. It was a relief to have IMO. Yes, it was a little cumbersome esp in the beginning, but when they STTN the first time I wasn't worried. We had false alarms, but thankfully no "real" ones. One monitor quit working in the middle of the night and the alarm would go off continuously if it was on. We called the company and they came and replaced it.
Our lo came home on a monitor and we are getting ready to give it up next week, which I am dreading. He only wears it at night or in the car if its just me and him. The rest of the time I am with him so there isnt a need for it. The monitor helped me to sleep peacefully at night and that is why I dont want to give it up. We only had a couple false alarms so it hasnt been a problem. If they are offering one I would take it!
