I'm about 9 weeks and 2 days now and this past week has been very very stressful. Its been a crazy time at work and it was so stressful to the point where i really didnt feel like I could eat and I could literally feel the anxiety up and down my spine, stomach, ect. Its gotten a lot better now, but I know its really not good for the baby to be that stressed so I'm def working on that.
However, I just found out last night that my Grandfather isnt doing too well....he told my grandmother last night that he was going to "Go today"....its a very sad time, not to mention that the whole family doesnt get along with my uncle so that will make things 10 times worse when the time comes. I'm sure maybe I'm overreacting, but I really need to take charge and make the health, both mental and physical, of myself and my baby my first priority. With things being so crazy right now, I'm not sure what I can do to alleviate some of the stress. Any pointers?
Re: Stressed out, and looking for a way to deal
omg I'm sorry you are going through this.....when I feel overwhelmed and stressed i go for a walk and it seems to help....also light exercise can help and drink lots of water....or maybe talk to someone about your stress getting it out can help.
I am so sorry you are going through this
Well what I would recomment is YOGA. Not sure if you ever tried it, but I just got into it and I absolutely love it.
I have suffered from serious anxiety and have also recently been treated (surgery) for life threatening arrhythmia. On top of that I've also had (and still do) a lot of problems with my family as well as financial stress that is keeping me up all night and making me want to scream. Sometimes I feel the anxiety come over me. And in all of this my DH and I are TTC and it's not working so well - obviously due to all the stress.
So I can imagine how you feel and have to tell you that since I've started doing Yoga I feel SO MUCH BETTER! I am more relaxed, I sleep better and I'm learning to cope with things a lot better. It really is all about being in tune with your body, about breathing and truly relaxing. And you most definitely need to do that for your and your baby's sake. Nothing else is more important, so that should definitely be your priority.
Check out prenatal yoga, it is amazing!
I wish you all the best and if you ever need to talk, just drop me a line
