  I was given the suppository version...I don't know if it comes in pill form...anyway, I only took it when I really needed it, it was instant relief and lasted hours, I don't think I ever took it more then twice a day, mid morning and then at night, those were the times I had the worst m/s.

  My bottle says 1 every 8 hours as needed, and at the height of my m/s I was taking it every 8 hours.  Now it is only when I'm feeling really gross, maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

  Don't feel bad about taking it if you need it, the doctor gave it to you for a reason!

  I take it first thing in the morning & that's about it! I just started feeling better today - thank goodness!

  I took it every 4 hours for 2 days early on and it made me hallucinate and I couldn't physically stay awake. The doc even told me take it at home the first time just in case. After 2 days of it, I decided I'd rather feel like I was dying than take it. I'm now on Zofran and it's much better so just know that if it doesn't work out you can ask for something else!

  i'm on promethazine which i believe is the generic phenergen. i take it 3x a day, with food (if i'm able to!). i don't have any sleepy side effects. they are 12.5 mg tablets.
